Performance

Despite having a more powerful engine, the CR-V can best the RAV4 in fuel economy ratings. The CR-V AWD gets 25 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, which is a slight improvement over the RAV4's 24/31 mpg. However, there?s an even starker difference with two-wheel drive. The CR-V 2WD gets 26/33 mpg while the RAV4 2WD gets 22/29 mpg. Clearly the CR-V is an asset to the family budget and the family driver.

Safety

The RAV4 was named Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2016 Honda CR-V's Touring is a 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus. The Plus designation recognizes the Honda Sensing? systems. The exclusive LaneWatch? is Honda?s answer to the blind zone. This camera is embedded in the passenger side mirror. Your turn signal activates this feature, sending an image to the screen. The Honda lane assistant does more than many lane departure systems. It recognizes if the Honda is straying off the road or out of its marked lane. Then it tugs gently to steer the SUV back on course. Both offer a standard rearview camera, but the CR-V offers to upgrade that to a multi-angle system.

Value

From pricing the base edition lower than the RAV4 to earning better fuel economy, the CR-V can definitely be a budget asset. The value proposition continues with features. Although the CR-V base edition is less than the RAV4, the CR-V offers the same list of dash tech. Both have USB ports, Bluetooth, and audio display screens. To that, the CR-V adds steering wheel mounted controls. The Honda CR-V even offers more legroom, headroom, hip room, and shoulder room in the back seat where it counts the most.

Whether you are looking for value, features or quality, the 2016 Honda CR-V is sure to please. Give it a test drive at Hamilton Honda. There's so much more to explore.
