Powering the 2016 Honda CR-V is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, which delivers 185 horsepower at 6,400 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 181 foot-pounds of torque at 3,900 RPM. Paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with Sport Mode, the engine helps in producing terrific fuel efficiency, while providing enough power for responsive driving. And the CVT, which eliminates the need for shifting gears, promotes smooth driving, in addition to excitement with the Sport Mode feature. Fuel economy is measured at up to 26 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 33 mpg on the highway*, and the vehicle can tow up to 1,500 pounds. For increased traction ability, you can go with the Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System, which is one of the most advanced all-wheel drivetrains in the industry.
Interior
A four-door five-seater, the 2016 Honda CR-V offers up to 104.1 cubic feet in passenger volume. And with the 60/40 split-folding ability of the rear seats, you can expand the luggage space to 70.9 cubic feet, which is almost twice the amount of the CR-V’s regular cargo capacity. Upgrade to the EX trim to get 10-way power adjustment and power lumbar support on the driver’s seat, as well as heating capability on the front seats. You’ll get leather seat covering if you go up to the EX-L. And if you select the Touring trim, the driver’s seat will come with a two-position memory system

Critics praise the 2016 Honda CR-V for offering more standard features than many competing compact SUVs. On the base-level LX alone, the CR-V has a remote keyless entry system, Bluetooth for streaming audio and hands-free phone calls, rearview camera, steering wheel-mounted controls, hands-free text messaging, and Pandora compatibility, among other features. And as you go up in trim, the chance of getting additional standard features or more advanced options—such as navigation, fog lights, 7-inch color touchscreen display, roof rails, push-button engine start, and power tilt-and-slide moonroof—is more likely.
Safety
For protection safety, the 2016 Honda CR-V comes with front impact airbags for the driver and front passenger, side impact airbags installed on the front seats, and side curtain airbags installed on the roof to flank both sides of the vehicle. Also on the vehicle are electronic stability, traction control, and anti-lock braking system. On the Touring in particular, you get additions like lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and collision mitigation braking. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named the Honda CR-V as a 2016 "Top Safety Pick" from the IIHS for its Good rating in all categories of its crashworthiness test, as well as scoring a Superior rating in its front crash prevention test.
