2023 Honda HR-V
The Honda HR-V is a stylish compact SUV that's even more stylish for the 2023 model year with its all-new exterior design, but the changes don't end there. This small SUV received a complete makeover for the new year with updates in the cabin, a new independent rear suspension, and new technology. Take a look at some details for the 2023 Honda HR-V.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level HR-V is the LX. It comes with 17-inch wheels, automatic on/off LED headlights, an intermittent rear wiper with a washer, LED taillights, power-adjustable side mirrors, and remote keyless entry. Stepping up to the Sport adds 18-inch gloss black wheels, a sport-specific grille, heated side exterior mirrors, chrome exhaust tips, and rear privacy glass. The top-level HR-V is the EX-L. It builds on the Sport with 17-inch machined alloy wheels and a power moonroof.
Engine (Power)
All of the 2023 Honda HR-V trims use the same powertrain. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine develops 158 horsepower and generates 138 pound-feet of torque. It works with Honda's continuously variable automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive. All trims offer all-wheel drive as an option. This engine will accelerate to 60 mph in just over nine seconds and offers the driver an athletic feel when they get behind the wheel.
Performance
The HR-V's small size makes it easy to drive and maneuver in small spaces. It's an ideal SUV for urban driving and is fuel efficient whether you're driving in town or on the highway. The ride in the HR-V stays smooth and quiet over most roads, and there's even a little bit of sportiness with some help from the responsive steering system. The CVT is one of the best in its class and feels much like a conventional transmission.
Interior
There's room for five in the HR-V. The entry-level model comes equipped with a height-adjustable driver's seat, single-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, and a 60/40 split rear seat. The Sport adds to this with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Stepping up to the EX-L adds leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. Technology in the HR-V starts with a 7-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-volt outlet in the cargo area, and two USB ports. The Sport has a six-speaker stereo system, and the EX-L upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen and adds wireless charging.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Honda HR-V comes with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver aids. It includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. It also comes with a lane-departure warning, tire pressure monitor, and a traffic jam assist system that will keep the HR-V at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of it when driving in traffic. Another safety feature in the HR-V is rear-seat side-impact airbags, which is not a common feature in an entry-level compact SUV. The Sport adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the EX-L comes with front and rear parking sensors.
