Sedans are an obvious choice for many drivers looking for a satisfying new vehicle that's easy to drive, reliable, and loaded with some of the best technology on the market. With the popularity of this class of cars, however, you'll find yourself with an exceptionally large array of vehicles to choose from. Fortunately, some models still manage to stand apart from the crowd, like the new 2023 Honda Accord. Find out whether or not it's right for you.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With six trim levels to choose from, it's easy to customize the exterior features of your Accord. The standard LX model already comes equipped with alluring features including stylish 17-inch wheels and LED headlights. You even get power side mirrors. Upgrade to the EX, and you get a power sunroof and Pewter Gray wheels.
At the Sport trim level, the Accord features a black rear spoiler and black mirror caps along with 19-inch gloss-black alloy wheels. Opt for the EX-L, and you get much of what the EX offers along with leather seats. The Sport-L upgrades the Sport trim in a similar way to the EX-L upgrade, while the Touring takes it to the next level. This trim sports silver and black exterior accents, so you know you're in the best version of this sedan.
Engine (Power)
Two engines are available for the Accord, and both offer plenty of power. The base engine is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that's turbocharged producing 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. This is the engine that comes with the LX and EX versions. The second engine is a hybrid 2-liter four-cylinder paired with dual electric motors that manage 204 horsepower. The more powerful engine is standard from the Sport trim level and upward.
Performance
As you might expect from a sedan like the Accord, it excels at keeping you comfortable behind the wheel. While its tuned suspension and shocks certainly help with this, the Motion Management System takes it to the next level. It uses your steering input to adjust deceleration in real time to help maintain grip for the front wheels. Still, the suspension is impressive in its own right, splitting its duties tuning for low-friction steering in the front and road vibration reduction in the back.
Interior
The Accord is a sizable sedan, so there's plenty of room inside for passengers. That's only the beginning, however, as you may also enjoy its spacious trunk that offers 16.7 cubic feet of space. The infotainment system comes with a 7-inch screen standard, but you can upgrade to a 12.3-inch screen if you like. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard either way.
Safety Features
You can drive with peace of mind knowing that some of the best safety features available are standard on the new Accord. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. You even have the benefit of automated traffic sign recognition that works alongside the adaptive cruise control standard straight from the base trim level.
